LAHORE: Pakistan's Syed Mohammad won a gold medal in Wushu in the ongoing Peace and Friendship games in Zehedan, Iran on Sunday.
Participating in the 60kg category, Mohammad defeated his Iranian opponent in the final to secure his gold.
Pakistan have so far won three medals in the event.
Jaffer Ali in 56, Ahsan Ullah in 65 and Mir Wais won the silver medals in 75kg category.
Three Pakistani players were defeated by Iranian players in the final but Mohammad took the revenge for three losses due to his heroics.
In the Wushu competitions, the hosts took the first position while Pakistan finished second.
Afghanistan, Sri Lanka and Iraq were ranked third, fourth and fifth respectively.
It must be noted that a 4-member squad will represent Pakistan in Wushu competitions in the Asian Games slated to be held in Hangzhou from September 23 to October 9: Abdul Khaliq (WAPDA, -60kg), Abdul Rehman (Punjab, -65kg), Miss Samreen (Punjab, -52kg) and 2019 South Asian Games silver medallist Miss Maira (Punjab, -60kg).
